Welcome to the Reynoldston Community Site. The purpose of this website is to enable you to learn more about the range of services and activities available in the village and to obtain up to date information about specific events taking place. It will also introduce you to the history of the area and its special features. The site also provides you with links to other sources of information which will be of interest to you.

Look Out for an Exciting Offer!

Negotiations to purchase the Village Shop and Post Office so as to run it as a viable going concern on behalf of, and for the benefit of the community are underway. If the purchase is successful, then the new business will be called the Reynoldston Community Shop and Post Office. BUT…Progress can only be made and the actual purchase completed if sufficient funds are raised from those prepared to support this exciting venture by becoming investors – which is where you come in. You will shortly be offered an opportunity to purchase shares in the business. By accepting the offer you will then become a shareholder in a community co-operative, enabling you to vote on how the business is developed and run. The Committee is obviously seeking other sources of funding and is in negotiation with grant agencies but any funds from these sources will be limited, or will be available long after the deadlines for the purchase of the business. Much therefore depends on your support.

A legal entity known as a Community Benefit Society is being set up and will be registered under the law as a society for the benefit of the community with the Financial Conduct Authority.

The information pack that you will be receiving shortly will give you details of the legal and financial structure that has been introduced and your protections, the maximum and minimum that you can invest and some financial projections for the future.

By becoming a shareholder:

  • You are investing in the future, making sure that we retain our Shop and Post Office.
  • You will be able to play a key role in the development of the business.
  • You may well be offered interest on your investment.
  • You will be joining a really exciting business venture run by the community for the community.
