Here are just a few ideas, if you are parents or grandparents, and would welcome some ideas of what to do with the kids. That is, apart from the beaches !!

King Arthur’s Stone…on Cefn Bryn. A massive stone, probably covering a tomb and erected by the New Stone Age people over 5,000 years ago. Lots of legends about the site. Great views. Gower Way…is a linear route of some 35 miles traversing the old Lordship of Gower. The route has marked stones. The Gower Society has produced a series of leaflets describing each section of the Walk (map, history, fauna and flora). You can walk as much or as little of the Way as you wish! Leaflets available from Reynoldston Post Office.

Gower Coast Adventures…take a boat trip from Port Eynon to Worms Head or Mumbles to Three Cliffs Bay (12 berth). Ideal to explore the coast line and wild life, with very well qualified guides. Pembrey Country Park…just past Llanelli. Super beach, parklands, adventure playground, ski and toboggan slopes, golf, walking, cycling.

Millennium Coastal Path… Starts at Loughor. Cycle, Historical and Wildlife Trails.

National Wetlands Centre…Between Loughor and Llanelli. Ducks, geese, swans, flamingoes. Bird watching and exhibitions.

Egyptian Centre… based at the University. Largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Wales. ‘Hands on’ activities. Look out for the mummified cat!

Gowerton Golf Range and Course…open to the public with no membership required. Families and beginners welcome. Course fishing facilities.

National Show Caves Centre for Wales…Dan-yr-Ogof. The most spectacular show cave complex in Northern Europe, plus Dinosaur Park, Iron Age Farm and Adventure Play Ground.
