The Lower Green has now become a centre for poets! John Ward of The Old Brewery Cottage is a well-established writer, former editor of Poetry Wales and an expert on RS Thomas and William Wordsworth. John has just published his Selected and New Poems, which contains many local references. The volume offers readers a wide selection from John's six published books, along with several new poems.

Reni Stableforth has recently moved into the village. Behind Closed Lids is Reni?s first collection of poems. The collection contains poems of childhood, seasons, weather, cliffs, coastal scenes and loss..of love, of loved ones, race and identity. These poems reflect Reni's personal journey, as a war refugee in South Africa, then as an orphan resulting from World War Two, her adoption and youth in Gorseinon, adult life in England and her return to her beloved Gower.
